    Nigeria’s First Female Council Leader Honored at 95

    President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Lateefat Gbajabiamila, Nigeria’s first female local government chairperson, for her remarkable service to the nation as she marks her 95th year.

    In a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu celebrated Gbajabiamila, who is also the mother of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

    He highlighted her exceptional kindness, humility, and unwavering dedication to both God and humanity.

    Describing her as a formidable political figure in Lagos State and beyond, Tinubu acknowledged her significant contributions as the first elected female local government chairperson during the Lateef Jakande Administration. He noted that Alhaja Gbajabiamila’s legacy remains an integral part of Nigeria’s socio-political history.

    A respected leader, accomplished entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Alhaja Gbajabiamila has left an indelible mark on society.

    The President expressed gratitude for her unwavering support and prayers, wishing her continued good health, happiness, and longevity.
