Women Key to Nigeria’s Industrial Revolution

The Minister of State for Industry, John Enoh, has highlighted the crucial role women will play in Nigeria’s industrial revolution.

Speaking at an event in Lagos, Enoh outlined strategies to promote a gender-inclusive industrial revolution in the country.

He engaged with industry leaders to discuss the challenges and strategies to ensure women’s active participation in industrial development.

“For the industrial revolution driven by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment to succeed, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, it must be inclusive and recognize the vital contributions of women in the sector,” Enoh stated.

The Minister further emphasized that women are pivotal in shaping policies and initiatives that empower industries and boost economic growth.

“Industries thrive on innovation, fresh thinking, and diverse perspectives. The best companies and dynamic nations know they succeed by including the best minds, regardless of gender,” he explained.

He stressed that the success of Nigeria’s industrial sector depends not on gender, but on competence and competitiveness.

Speaking also, the President of Commonwealth Business Women Africa, Ngozi Oyewole, echoed the Minister’s point, calling for more opportunities for women in the industry.

“Women are key to Nigeria’s industrial revolution. Our insights, experiences, and creativity are essential for driving innovation and sustainable growth in the economy,” she concluded.
