    Yetunde Akinsowon’s Bold Vision for Nigeria’s Agricultural Renaissance

    Yetunde Akinsowon is a testament to the transformative power of passion and expertise in agriculture. As the CEO of Agnus Livestock Services Konsult, she has dedicated her career to revolutionizing livestock farming, empowering communities, and fostering sustainable agricultural practices.Founded in 2011, Agnus Livestock Services Konsult has grown into a comprehensive agricultural consultancy and production firm. The company specializes in various facets of livestock farming, including poultry (layers and broilers), piggery (breeder and terminal pigs), and catfish grow-out production. Beyond livestock, the enterprise extends its expertise to crop production, notably palm oil, cassava, and maize farming. Operating on 30 acres of arable land in Ewekoro Local Government Area and managing 25 acres of oil palm plantations in Yewa North, the firm exemplifies integrated farming at its best.Akinsowon’s commitment to capacity building is evident in her extensive training and mentorship initiatives. Over the past five years, Agnus Livestock Services Konsult has organized seminars and workshops that have trained over 2,000 individuals. Additionally, the firm has provided industrial training to more than 50 undergraduates and is currently mentoring over 30 graduates and undergraduates in agribusiness.A registered Animal Scientist with the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science, Akinsowon holds several key positions in professional associations. She serves as the State Treasurer of the Animal Science Association, Ogun State Chapter; President of the Model Farmers Cooperative Multipurpose Society in Owowo, Ewekoro LG; and Assistant Secretary of the Ogun State Fisheries and Aquaculture Farmers Association. Her active membership in the Poultry Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, further underscores her dedication to advancing the agricultural sector. Akinsowon’s holistic approach to agriculture integrates production, consultancy, and education. By leveraging her expertise and leadership roles, she continues to influence policies and practices that promote sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria.
