    Nifemi Oyebiyi: Championing Health-Conscious, Sustainable Nutrition Through Foods By Far

    In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals faced unprecedented challenges. 

    For Oluwanifemi Adeyemi-Oyebiyi, known as Nifemi Oyebiyi, this period became a catalyst for transformation. Transitioning from her role as a private secondary school teacher, she ventured into the food processing industry, founding FOODS BY FAR—a brand deeply rooted in sustainability and health consciousness.

    A graduate of Philosophy from the University of Lagos, Oyebiyi’s academic background provided her with critical thinking skills that would later prove invaluable in her entrepreneurial journey. 

    Further honing her business acumen, she attended the FATE Institute of the Fate Foundation School, equipping herself with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of the business world.

    Established during the height of the pandemic in 2020, FOODS BY FAR is more than just a food processing company. It embodies Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 3, and 12, focusing on zero hunger, good health and well-being, and responsible consumption and production, respectively. 

    By partnering with local farmers, Oyebiyi ensures the procurement of unadulterated, high-quality agricultural products. These are then processed and packaged hygienically, ready to be cooked, meeting the nutritional needs of consumers seeking preservative-free options. 

    Recognizing the challenges inherent in entrepreneurship, Oyebiyi emphasizes the importance of networking. She believes that building connections can provide support, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for growth. Her active participation in entrepreneurial communities underscores her commitment to collective advancement and the sharing of best practices.

    Oyebiyi’s dedication and innovative approach have not gone unnoticed.

     She was recently recognized as one of the Top 50 Remarkable Founders by MSME Africa, a testament to her impact in the micro, small, and medium enterprises sector. 

    Her journey from education to entrepreneurship serves as an inspiration, highlighting the potential of adaptability, resilience, and vision in driving meaningful change.
