    Visa Appoints Aminata Kane as Senior Vice President for Western and Central Africa

    Global payments leader Visa has named Aminata Kane as its new Senior Vice President and Head of Western and Central Africa, effective September 4, 2025. 

    In her new role, Kane will lead operations across 23 markets, working from key hubs in Abidjan, Accra, Kinshasa, and Lagos, according to BusinessDay.

    Kane brings more than a decade of executive experience in digital financial services and telecoms, having previously served as Regional CEO of Orange Money Group, overseeing financial services across 17 countries. 

    She is widely recognized for championing financial inclusion and driving digital innovation in underserved markets.

    An alumna of HEC Paris and MIT Sloan, Kane is also a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and was recently named among Africa’s Top 100 Women CEOs. 

    Her professional journey began at Goldman Sachs and continued at McKinsey & Company, where she specialized in financial strategy and market transformation.

    Visa lauded Kane’s track record in empowering women and youth through technology-driven initiatives such as the Orange Foundation and the Orange Digital Centre in Sierra Leone.

    Andrew Torre, Visa’s Regional President for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, said, “Aminata’s leadership and deep expertise in digital financial services will be instrumental in accelerating our mission to drive financial inclusion across the region.”

    Expressing her enthusiasm, Kane said, “I’m honoured to join Visa at this critical time in Africa’s digital journey. I look forward to working with our partners and stakeholders to build inclusive, innovative payment ecosystems that unlock sustainable growth for all.”
