    FG Awards N200,000 to Nigerian Teenager Crowned Best in Global English Competition

    The Federal Government of Nigeria has recognized the outstanding achievement of 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi from Yobe State, presenting her with a cash prize of N200,000 for emerging as the world’s best in English at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London. 

    The award was conferred by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during a ceremony in Abuja.

    This recognition, according to Punch, follows the Atiku Abubakar Foundation’s earlier decision to reward the TeenEagle champions—Nafisa Abdullahi, Rukaiya Fema, and Khadija Kalli—with fully-funded scholarships, celebrating their remarkable performance at the international competition. 

    According to a letter dated 5 August 2025 and signed by Prof. Ahmadu Shehu, Acting Secretary of the Foundation, the organization applauded the students for their “outstanding performance at the TeenEagle Global Finals”

    Nafisa Abdullahi distinguished herself through her exceptional command of the English language, critical thinking, and articulate communication, securing her victory against participants from 69 countries.
