Influencing Habits and Providing Hope for African Families — Ngozi Okonkwo

In a world grappling with social disconnection, broken homes, and moral uncertainty, Ngozi Okonkwo, fondly known as Ngee, is rewriting the narrative—one family, one habit, and one life at a time.

A visionary author, advocate, and speaker, Ngee is a force of transformation in Nigeria’s family, education, and nonprofit landscape.

Ngee’s journey began in education, where she served as a school administrator for seven years.

Her deep-rooted commitment to child development and structured learning naturally evolved into a broader mission: equipping families and individuals with the habits that drive purposeful living.

Leaving formal education behind, she plunged fully into the nonprofit sector, leveraging her skills to influence family systems, advocate for women and children’s rights, and promote holistic health.

At the heart of Ngee’s impact lies the Keeping Marriage Alive Initiative (KMAI), a powerful platform dedicated to strengthening marriages and family units through habit formation, counseling, and value-based training.

More than an NGO, KMAI operates as a “habit shop”—offering tools, workshops, and support systems that have reached over 1.3 million people across five Nigerian states and the United Kingdom.

With a thriving community of nearly 1,000 active members, KMAI is not just a movement; it’s a family of changemakers.

Alongside her husband, Ngee co-authored “2 Sides of the Story (Couples Manual)”, a pre- and post-marital guide used in churches and organizations across Nigeria.

Recognizing the power of play in education, the couple also developed “The Alive Game” and “Family Alive Board (FAB) Game”—tools designed to foster bonding, communication, and family values in a fun, interactive way.

These resources reinforce her firm belief that the family is the production center and moral compass of society—a message she amplifies in her writings, workshops, and speaking engagements.

Ngee wears many hats. She is the Executive Director and Chief Ideation Officer of KRING Hospital, where she blends healthcare management with community outreach.

Her passion for change has also taken root in prisons and underserved communities, where she volunteers as an educational consultant for prison and PTA outreaches.

She is an active member of numerous leadership platforms, including the FATE Alumni community, where she previously served as General Secretary and still facilitates entrepreneurship and leadership programs.

She also holds the position of Assistant General Secretary at the Feast of Esther, Amuwo-Odofin chapter—a community of women leaders and ministers.

Ngee’s Habit Workshop is another brainchild that addresses the often-overlooked science of habits.

Through it, she equips individuals with strategies to cultivate behaviors that drive personal and professional growth.

Her approach is practical, spiritual, and deeply human—anchored on the conviction that “we are what we repeatedly do.”

Ngozi Okonkwo’s tireless work has earned her numerous accolades for her impact in the family and marriage sector, confirming her status as one of Africa’s leading voices on family transformation, emotional intelligence, and character development.

“Family is not just the basic unit of society—it is the seedbed of destiny. When we fix the family, we fix the future.” — Ngozi Okonkwo (Ngee)

Ngozi Okonkwo is not just building programs—she is building generational legacies.

Her work reminds us that when women lead with purpose and compassion, they become catalysts for healthier families, stronger societies, and a better Africa.
