Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Prices, Plans Direct Supply Monday

Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in petrol pump prices alongside the rollout of a direct distribution scheme to 11 states, beginning Monday, September 15, 2025.

According to a statement released on the Group’s official X account, fuel will now sell at ₦841 per litre in Lagos and other South-West states, and ₦851 per litre in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta States.

The new gantry price is fixed at ₦820 per litre, with deliveries to registered fuel stations in 12 states beginning at no extra cost.

The direct supply initiative, which was initially planned for August but delayed due to logistics challenges in China, is designed to streamline distribution, cut costs, and strengthen fuel access nationwide. Station operators are being urged to register in order to benefit from the scheme.

Since its commissioning, the refinery has been central to reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imported petroleum products.

In July, it acquired 4,000 CNG-powered trucks under a ₦720 billion programme aimed at distributing up to 65 million litres of refined fuel daily.

The refinery estimates the effort could save Nigeria ₦1.7 trillion annually in distribution costs while revitalising dormant petrol stations across the country.
