FG, UAE Seal New Partnership To Expand Digital Education For Nigerian Youth

Nigeria has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE Digital School to broaden access to digital learning and strengthen practical skill development for millions of young Nigerians.

The agreement—signed in Dubai by the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, and Dr. Waleed Al Ali of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives—marks a significant step in Nigeria’s push to prepare its youth for full participation in the global digital economy.

According to the Ministry, the deal builds on an earlier engagement held in July 2025 with top UAE government officials and development partners.

Olawande described the partnership as more than a formal document, calling it a shared commitment to equip young Nigerians with the tools, knowledge and opportunities required to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

He said the collaboration reflects shared responsibility and shared hope between both countries as they work to expand digital access and strengthen the skills pipeline for future industries.

The initiative is expected to support Nigeria’s broader youth development agenda, which prioritises digital literacy, virtual learning, and technology-enabled education as key pillars for economic competitiveness.
