Dr Adeleke Ifeoluwa Yomade Highlights Women’s Influence in Urban Development as the World Marks International Women’s Day 2026

Across the world, International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026 served as a moment to recognize women whose leadership is transforming industries and shaping the future of cities. In Nigeria’s real estate and development sector, Dr Adeleke Ifeoluwa Yomade is among the professionals demonstrating how women are contributing to the evolution of modern urban environments.

Historically, sectors such as construction, infrastructure, and property development were dominated by male leadership. However, women across Africa are increasingly entering these fields and bringing new perspectives that influence how cities grow and how commercial spaces are designed.

For Dr Adeleke Ifeoluwa Yomade, International Women’s Day is both a celebration of progress and a reminder of the importance of continued representation in development driven industries.

“Women are contributing to industries that shape how communities function and how cities expand,” she said. “International Women’s Day highlights the importance of ensuring that women continue to have opportunities to lead within these sectors.”

Her work supervising the O2 Mall development in Abuja illustrates this influence in action. The project reflects the city’s expanding commercial landscape and the need for modern spaces that support businesses, entrepreneurs, and community engagement.

For Dr Adeleke Ifeoluwa Yomade, projects like O2 Mall also demonstrate how thoughtful development can support both economic activity and urban transformation.

“Urban development is about creating spaces that allow people and businesses to interact, grow, and innovate,” she said. “When those spaces are designed with vision and purpose, they contribute to stronger and more vibrant communities.”

Jahi has become one of Abuja’s rapidly growing districts, attracting new investment and development as the city continues to expand. Commercial projects within the area contribute to this momentum by providing environments that encourage business activity and collaboration.

According to Dr Adeleke Ifeoluwa Yomade, women participating in development sectors will continue to shape the future of modern cities.

“Women bring leadership, creativity, and resilience into industries that influence how our cities evolve,” she said. “The more women participate in urban development, the more inclusive and innovative our cities will become.”

As International Women’s Day 2026 recognizes the achievements of women worldwide, professionals such as Dr Adeleke Ifeoluwa Yomade illustrate how female leadership continues to influence industries that shape both economic progress and the future of urban development.
