Pioneering Tech Entrepreneurship Across Africa with AppsTech – Rebecca Enonchong

(TECH) Rebecca Enonchong’s journey as a tech entrepreneur is one of unwavering determination, innovation, and a deep commitment to uplifting Africa through technology.

As the founder and CEO of AppsTech, a leading global provider of enterprise software solutions, Rebecca has become a symbol of what’s possible when vision meets purpose.

Born in Cameroon, Rebecca’s early life was steeped in a passion for technology and a desire to make a difference.

She moved to the U.S with her parents in her teens where she took up a job selling door-to-door newspaper subscriptions.

Two years later, she became a manager in the same company at such a young age.

Enonchong attended the Catholic University of America, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and also a Master of Science degree in Economics.

While growing up, she noticed that technology had the potential to transform industries and communities, especially in Africa, where digital solutions were still emerging.

This realization led her to pursue a career in tech, even at a time when the industry was male-dominated and the concept of women in tech was still a rarity in many parts of Africa.

Her entrepreneurial journey began when she launched AppsTech, a Bethesda, Maryland-based global provider of enterprise applications, in 1999.

AppsTech is an Oracle Platinum Partner and has customers in over 40 countries. AppsTech has opened in several places including her native land, Cameroon.

Armed with a clear vision and a deep understanding of how technology could revolutionize business operations, Rebecca was determined to bring affordable and accessible enterprise solutions to African companies. AppsTech focused on providing businesses with the tools to streamline their processes, improve productivity, and drive growth.

But what set Rebecca apart was her unshakable belief in technology’s ability to bridge gaps, empower communities, and create economic opportunities.

Over the years, Rebecca’s leadership and passion for technology led her to achieve incredible milestones.

AppsTech quickly gained recognition for its innovative software solutions, and Rebecca’s leadership became a beacon for young African entrepreneurs.

She was one of the first to realize that Africa’s future would be shaped by tech, and she made it her mission to ensure that her company played a key role in shaping that future.

Yet, Rebecca’s influence goes beyond just her entrepreneurial success. She’s a strong advocate for women in tech and entrepreneurship, believing that empowering women is one of the key pillars of Africa’s development.

As a mentor, speaker, and advocate, Rebecca has used her platform to encourage young women to pursue careers in technology, while also challenging the status quo and breaking down the barriers that often prevent women from entering the tech space.

Today, Rebecca is not only known for her work at AppsTech but also as one of Africa’s most influential tech entrepreneurs.

She has been recognized globally for her contributions to the tech industry and her efforts to make technology more inclusive.

But despite her accolades, Rebecca remains focused on her mission: to use technology to transform Africa, create economic opportunities, and ensure that the continent is equipped to compete in the global digital economy. Recently, she was named as one of the

Rebecca Enonchong’s story is a powerful reminder that one individual’s vision and determination can spark a transformation.
