Ayo Edebiri Named Chanel’s New Ambassador

Chanel has officially unveiled Ayo Edebiri as its new brand ambassador, just days before Matthieu Blazy’s first runway presentation for the storied fashion house at Paris Fashion Week.

According to a statement byWWD, Chanel described Edebiri as “a new-generation, genre-defying performer” whose wit, distinctive perspective, and effortless style align perfectly with the maison’s creative spirit.

Best known for her acclaimed role as Chef Sydney Adamu in the award-winning series The Bear, Edebiri has earned a Golden Globe and an Emmy, along with widespread recognition for her sharp humor and emotional range.

Beyond acting, she’s also a screenwriter and director — a true multi-hyphenate redefining modern artistry.

The partnership between Edebiri and Chanel has been quietly teased in recent weeks.

The actress appeared in Chanel looks during the premieres of her new film, After the Hunt, first at the Venice Film Festival in August and again at the New York Film Festival in late September.

For Matthieu Blazy — who steps into the creative director role with this upcoming show — Edebiri represents the kind of bold authenticity he hopes to capture in his designs.

“Ayo is all strength, yet vulnerable enough to always put herself out there,” Blazy said. “I admire her boldness, beauty, intellect, and artistic choices. She approaches everything with kindness and wit, and she has the warmest smile.”

Edebiri echoed the admiration, expressing excitement for what’s to come. “Matthieu and I clicked right away,” she said. “His vision is sensitive and joyful — there’s ease and elegance, but also an internal power. His creations make me feel confident, yet entirely myself. I’m so happy to be starting this journey with him and Chanel.”

Edebiri is expected to attend Blazy’s debut Chanel show on Monday evening at the Grand Palais in Paris, marking a new chapter for both the actress and the house..
