The Former Miss South Africa 2010 and celebrated beauty queen Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala has been appointed National Director of Miss Universe South Africa, the official license now managed by African Beauty International.
Montjane-Tshabalala, a businesswoman and philanthropist, brings over a decade of experience in pageantry and community development.
She remains one of South Africa’s most accomplished beauty ambassadors, having represented the country in all four of the world’s top pageants — Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, and Miss International.
Since her reign, Bokang has evolved into a leading advocate for education, gender equality, and community upliftment through her foundation and social initiatives.

Speaking on her appointment, she said her goal is to transform Miss Universe South Africa into “a platform that not only shines on the international stage but also creates tangible impact within our communities.”
“We aim to discover and nurture women who are passionate about leadership, service, and impact — women who represent the full beauty and diversity of South Africa,” she said.
Montjane-Tshabalala plans to merge glamour with purpose, ensuring contestants are equipped to lead social change while competing globally.
“Pageantry, when rooted in purpose, becomes a catalyst for transformation. I want every young woman who steps onto that stage to feel seen, celebrated, and inspired to use her voice for change,” she added.
Through African Beauty International, Bokang has already strengthened platforms such as Miss Supranational South Africa and continues to champion causes including autism awareness, youth education, and the fight against gender-based violence.
As South Africa’s representative prepares to compete at the Miss Universe 2025 finals in Thailand this November, all eyes are on Bokang’s leadership and her mission to blend empowerment, excellence, and elegance on the global stage.
