Canadian aerospace company Bombardier Inc. has endorsed the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos, Nigeria, describing it as a world-class project and a key source of cleaner jet fuel for the aviation industry.
During their visit, Bombardier Chairman Pierre Beaudoin and senior executives highlighted the refinery’s environmentally friendly jet fuel, which removes sulphur, and noted that the facility sets a new standard for African industrial capacity.

In a symbolic gesture, Bombardier presented a prototype aircraft to Aliko Dangote, reflecting confidence in the refinery’s operations.
The Dangote Refinery, currently the world’s largest single-train facility, has reduced Nigeria’s dependence on imported fuels, now supplying around two-thirds of the country’s jet fuel and exporting to Europe and neighboring West African countries.
Its capacity recently increased to 700,000 barrels per day (bpd), with plans to surpass South Korea’s Onsan Refinery (669,000 bpd).
Dangote emphasized that the refinery complies with emission and effluent standards from the World Bank, US EPA, EU, and Nigeria’s Department of Petroleum Resources.
The project also supports Nigeria’s energy security, foreign exchange reserves, and regional energy hub ambitions.
Additionally, the refinery is modernizing logistics through electric and CNG-powered trucks, aligning with global energy transition goals.
