Fuel Prices Fall at Nigerian Filling Stations Following Drop in Landing Cost

Several Nigerian filling stations have reduced the price of premium motor spirit (petrol) as the landing cost continues to fall below Dangote Refinery’s ex-depot rate.

Observations carried out by DailyPost yesterday revealed that outlets operated by NIPCO, AA Rano, Eterna, and Empire Energy in Abuja lowered their pump prices.

NIPCO and AA Rano now sell petrol at N940 per litre, down from N950–N955, while Eterna and Empire Energy adjusted theirs to N945 and N955 per litre, respectively, marking reductions of between N4 and N10 per litre.

Similarly, NNPCL retail stations in Abuja decreased their price to N945 from N955.

However, other stations, including MRS (Dangote Petrol) and Ranoil, maintained their rates at N950 and N955 per litre as of this morning.

An MRS manager noted that price reductions could occur later in the day.

Don’t Miss This: Dangote Declines Buying NNPC Refineries, Urges Others to Invest

The latest data from the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria, released on November 3, 2025, indicated that the petrol landing cost declined to N827.04 per litre, from N829.77 at the end of October.

Ex-depot checks showed Dangote Refinery at N872 per litre, Pinnacle N872, NIPCO N870, BOVAS N870, Aiteo N870, and AA Rano N870, making Dangote’s price N2 higher than some depot owners.

The current landing cost is N44.96 below Dangote Refinery’s ex-depot rate.

This development follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval of a 15% import duty on petrol and diesel to support local Refineries, a move stakeholders warn could increase imported fuel prices in the near future.
