HerVest, NemHealth Collaborate on Free Breast Cancer Screening

Women-focused fintech platform HerVest has teamed up with NemHealth to offer free breast cancer screening and health awareness to women in Lagos, reaffirming its commitment to women’s overall wellbeing.

In a statement released yesterday, the organisations said the initiative was designed to promote early detection, health education and preventive care, aligning with the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, celebrated globally in October under the theme, “Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters.”

The programme began with a live Instagram session titled “Health is Wealth: Why Women Should Prioritise Routine Checkups,” followed by an in-person screening and wellness check at HerVest’s headquarters in Yaba.

More than 50 women benefited from free breast examinations, blood pressure checks, BMI assessments and blood sugar tests carried out by certified NemHealth medical professionals.

Participants also received a health talk on early detection and healthy lifestyle choices that can reduce breast cancer risk.

HerVest CEO, Solape Akinpelu, highlighted the link between financial empowerment and physical health, noting that true prosperity begins with prioritising wellbeing.

“Our mission has always been to support women not just in building wealth but in sustaining wellbeing. Partnering with NemHealth allowed us to bring this vision to life in a tangible way,” she said.

One of the attendees, Annabelle, praised the impact of the outreach, describing it as seamless and enlightening. She urged women to embrace regular checkups and remain informed about their health.

HerVest says it plans to continue driving holistic empowerment for women by integrating financial access, health awareness and education to support inclusive growth and long-term wellbeing.
