    NASCON Board Appoints Tonya Lawani Amid Drive for Stronger Industry Leadership

    A key subsidiary of the Dangote Group, NASCON Allied Industries Plc, has appointed renowned corporate strategist Tonya Lawani as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its board.

    Her appointment, effective from June 30, 2025, underscores NASCON’s commitment to bolstering corporate governance and driving sustainable innovation within Nigeria’s manufacturing and food processing sectors.

    Lawani, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Directors (M.CIoD), brings to the board over a decade of experience in business development, strategic leadership, and boardroom service across multiple industries. She currently serves as Managing Director and CEO of Seal Group, with operations in Lagos and Benin City.

    She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and an MBA from the Metropolitan School of Business and Management, UK.

    Lawani is also an alumna of the Lagos Business School’s Owner Manager Programme and has completed executive programs at Harvard University in the United States.

    Widely respected for her advocacy on ethical leadership, inclusive economic growth, and youth capacity development, Lawani gained international attention after delivering her first global presentation on youth leadership at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

    In a statement, NASCON reaffirmed that her appointment reflects the company’s continued focus on innovation, transparency, and diverse leadership as it strengthens its position in the Nigerian food industry—particularly in salt refining and seasoning production.
