The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) has announced the appointment of Dr. Owen D. Omogiafo, OON to its Board of Directors.
The appointments, according to the organisation, reflect NESG’s continued commitment to strengthening private sector leadership and deepening partnerships that support inclusive economic growth, policy reform, and sustainable national development.
Dr. Omogiafo is the President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group), a diversified conglomerate with major investments in power, energy, and hospitality.

Under her leadership, Transcorp Group has played a significant role in Nigeria’s power sector, with its subsidiaries—Transcorp Power Plc and Transafam Power Limited—together accounting for about 20 per cent of the country’s installed power generation capacity.
She also oversees the Group’s energy access and sustainability initiatives through Transcorp Energy Limited and the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, while maintaining a strong presence in the hospitality sector via Transcorp Hotels Plc, owners of the Transcorp Hilton Abuja. Dr. Omogiafo, a recipient of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), currently serves on several corporate boards and brings extensive experience in corporate governance, human capital development, and economic transformation to the NESG Board.
The organisation expressed confidence in her expertise and global perspectives, stating that it would enhance its work in shaping evidence-based public policy, promoting private sector participation, and accelerating Nigeria’s economic transformation.
