Nigeria Immigration Service Raises Passport Fees to N100,000 and N200,000

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an increase in the cost of obtaining Nigerian passports, effective September 1, 2025.

The adjustment applies to applications submitted within Nigeria, with the new fees set at N100,000 for the 32-page, five-year passport and N200,000 for the 64-page, ten-year passport.

The Service clarified that fees for Nigerians applying from abroad will remain unchanged at $150 for the 32-page passport and $230 for the 64-page passport.

According to the NIS, the revision is aimed at maintaining the quality and integrity of Nigerian passports while ensuring accessibility for citizens.

This latest increase comes nearly a year after the Federal Government approved a previous hike in August 2024, which raised the 32-page passport from N35,000 to N50,000 and the 64-page passport from N70,000 to N100,000.

At that time, the Immigration Service explained that the increment was necessary to sustain passport quality and improve service delivery.
