    Nigerian Breweries Appoints Olufunmilayo Akande as Independent Non-Executive Director

    The Board of Directors of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Nigeria’s leading brewing company, has appointed Olufunmilayo Akande as an Independent Non-Executive Director. The announcement follows the company’s board meeting held on February 12, 2025.

    Akande succeeds Ifueko Omoigui, whose tenure as a Non-Executive Director concludes on February 19, 2025. Her appointment takes effect on February 20, 2025.

    Currently serving as the Finance Director of Siemens Energy Limited, Nigeria, and Vice President of Finance for Siemens Energy’s North, West, and Central Africa subregions, Akande brings three decades of experience across auditing, finance, accounting, consulting, corporate governance, business management, manufacturing, and the oil and gas sectors.

    With her appointment, the Board of Nigerian Breweries, effective February 20, 2025, will consist of:

    • Hans Essaadi (Dutch) – Managing Director/Chief Executive
    • Adeyinka Aroyewun
    • Ben Wessels Boer (Dutch)
    • Siep Hiemstra (Dutch)
    • Olufunmilayo Akande, MFR

    • Stella Ojekwe-Onyejeli
    • Jaap Overmars (Dutch)
