In a strategic move to bolster its stakeholder engagement and corporate image, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has announced the appointment of two senior professionals to lead its Corporate Communications and Relations functions.
Morenike Adewunmi was named Chief Relations Officer, bringing her extensive experience and strategic expertise to the forefront of the company’s outreach efforts.

A lawyer by profession, Morenike Adewunmi boasts of over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, most notably through her distinguished career with the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN).
During her tenure, she held critical roles such as Regulatory Affairs Manager and Government Relations Manager, where she successfully managed high-level relationships with the Presidency, ministries, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.
Renowned for her proficiency in stakeholder management, advocacy, and non-technical risk management, Adewunmi is also celebrated for her strong leadership skills and emotional intelligence.
She earned her law degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University and was called to the Nigerian Bar after completing her studies at the Nigerian Law School.

Alongside her appointment, Andy Odeh assumes the role of Chief Corporate Communications Officer, contributing over 30 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, and sustainable development, including a notable 26-year tenure at Nigeria LNG (NLNG).
NNPC emphasized that these appointments, particularly Adewunmi’s leadership in corporate relations, highlight the company’s commitment to enhancing its communication strategies and stakeholder engagement in alignment with its ongoing transformation agenda.
