From Pharmacy to Pastry: How Itohan Asibor is Revolutionizing African Entrepreneurship

Itohan Asibor is not just breaking barriers; she’s also rewriting the rules.

Leaving behind a promising career in pharmacy, she embraced her passion for baking and built a global confectionery empire — proving that with vision and grit, anything is possible.

What began as humble home-baked cakes soon blossomed into Bluberry Confectioneries, a premium brand adored in Nigeria and Canada alike.

Itohan’s kitchen table creations defied startup odds, flourishing past the critical five-year mark to become a beacon of innovation in the culinary world.

Itohan’s impact goes beyond delicious desserts. She launched The Cake Faculty, a trailblazing institute committed to nurturing and mentoring budding bakers.

As a mentor with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women in Business (UK), she’s lifting others to rise alongside her—turning dreams into tangible success.

Armed with a Pharmacy degree from the University of Benin, Itohan masterfully blends precision with creativity.

Her entrepreneurial journey is fueled by elite training from FATE Foundation, Pan African University’s Enterprise Development Centre, and a prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Scholarship.

Determined to perfect her skills, Itohan trained under world-renowned confectionery legends like Ron Ben Israel and “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro.

Certified as a PME Master Baker and a proud member of both the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and the International Cake Exploration Society, she embodies the seamless fusion of science, art, and business savvy.

For Itohan, success is measured by impact. She dedicates herself to mentoring the next generation, championing entrepreneurship, and fostering personal growth—creating ripples of change far beyond her bakery walls.

Itohan Asibor’s journey isn’t just a career pivot; it’s a powerful story of transformation, resilience, and African entrepreneurship at its finest.
