    Onyinyechi Basil Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

    The representative of Anambra State, Onyinyechi Basil, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 after a competitive finale held in Lagos on Saturday night.

    Basil secured the national crown after edging out Damilola Bolarinde of Lagos, who finished as first runner-up. 

    Fortune Kurobo of Bayelsa and Irene Ikediashi of Ogun placed as second and third runner-up respectively, while Idah Eno of Akwa Ibom joined the top five and earned the title of Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.

    Out of 22 contestants, only 10 advanced to the semi-final stage, including representatives from Delta, Ekiti, Imo, Ebonyi, and Oyo states. 

    The event combined cultural heritage with modern pageantry, featuring a traditional attire showcase, a swimwear segment promoting body confidence, and choreographed performances that energized the crowd.

    Voting data released by the franchise showed Miss Delta, De-Blessing Asaboro, leading the polls with 38,319 votes, followed by Miss Lagos with 34,033 and Miss Ekiti with 28,074, highlighting the high level of public engagement in this year’s contest.

    The grand finale was hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson, drawing a large audience and sparking wide social media reactions as fans anticipated the crowning moment.

    Basil succeeds Chidinma Adetshina, Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, and will now represent Nigeria at the global Miss Universe pageant later this year.
