    FirstCap Limited Appoints Dr. Irene Ubiawhe-Akpofure As Non-Executive Director

    Dr. Irene Ubiawhe-Akpofure has been appointed Non-Executive Director on the Board of FirstCap Limited, the investment banking and capital markets arm of First HoldCo Plc.

    The appointment places Dr. Ubiawhe-Akpofure among the leadership team responsible for the strategic oversight and governance of FirstCap, alongside other directors including Chairperson Yewande Amusan. 

    The move is part of First HoldCo’s broader leadership structure across its non-banking subsidiaries aimed at strengthening corporate governance and market responsiveness.

    Dr. Ubiawhe-Akpofure is a veteran human resources and strategic leadership professional with over two decades of experience spanning both the United Kingdom and Nigeria. 

    She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Yvonne Lewis Limited, a premier HR consultancy providing recruitment and training services to clients across multiple sectors. Her expertise also extends to change management and organizational transformation.

    Her appointment reflects continued efforts by financial services firms in Nigeria to deepen boardroom diversity and bring seasoned professionals with broad industry experience into leadership roles.
