    Agatha Elumelu-Obiekwugo: Strategic Board Dame and Energy Sector Pioneer 

    Agatha Elumelu-Obiekwugo stands as a powerful yet understated architect of business transformation across Nigeria’s energy, technology, and logistics landscapes. 

    With over twenty-five years of experience, she has navigated banking, consulting, IT, downstream oil and gas, procurement, and commodity trading, leaving a mark in each domain by shaping governance and strategic growth.

    Holding a BA in English and Literary Studies from Ambrose Alli University and an MBA in Marketing from Lagos Business School, Agatha entered the boardroom carrying both intellectual rigor and creative acuity. 

    She further refined her strategic gravitas with a Certificate in Strategy Execution from Harvard Business School.

    Her career is anchored in prominent board roles across diverse industries. She serves on the boards of ADASSA Energy Limited (downstream oil & gas), Treasure Pacs Limited (procurement and logistics), TNC Computers (IT), Bulksail Limited (commodity trading), and Afriland Properties PLC. 

    This breadth reflects not just versatility but an ability to drive governance in sectors central to Nigeria’s economic advancement.

    In November 2022, she made history at Enugu State University of Science and Technology as the first woman to receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration (Honoris Causa) during the institution’s convocation—recognizing her outstanding leadership and contributions to business and education.

    Her influence has also earned her a place among Avance Media’s 2024 list of the 100 Most Influential African Women, underscoring her standing as a trailblazer across the continent .

    Beyond corporate strategy, Agatha is a founding member of the Women in Energy Network, where she holds responsibility on the Finance Committee—championing gender inclusion in energy leadership spaces.

    Her reputation as a “silent achiever” speaks to her understated power: an astute strategist who advances institutions from within, nurtures rigor across multiple sectors, and demonstrates that leadership is not always loud, but always impactful .
