Rukayat Alabi: Empowering Immigrants for Global Career Success

Rukayat Alabi, the Founder and CEO of RKY Group of Companies, has become a beacon of
hope for immigrants striving to secure fulfilling careers. Her personal journey of resilience,
adaptation, and determination inspired her to build a platform that empowers others to navigate
    global job markets with confidence.
From launching career support initiatives to expanding into North America, Rukayat is on a
mission to break barriers for immigrants worldwide. In this exclusive interview, she shares her
story, the driving force behind her work, and the impact of RKY Careers.
Interviewer: Your journey as an immigrant played a role in shaping RKY Careers. Can you share
    what that experience was like?
Rukayat: When I moved to the UK, I faced the same struggles many immigrants do—figuring
out where I fit in, navigating an unfamiliar job market, and dealing with the stereotype that
immigrants are only suited for low-paying jobs. I knew that wasn’t true, but I also saw how
difficult it was for many people to break into professional roles. That experience planted the
seed for RKY Careers. I wanted to create a platform that not only helped immigrants find jobs
but also equipped them with the tools and confidence to build long-term, fulfilling careers.
Interviewer: Many career support platforms exist, but RKY Careers stands out. What makes it
    different?
Rukayat: We focus on transformation, not just placement. Many platforms offer job listings and
basic resume support, but we take a holistic approach. We provide career coaching, tech career
transitions, CV optimization, interview preparation, and now, with our latest initiative, Apply
Buddy, we’re simplifying the job application process. The goal is not just to help people get hired
but to ensure they step into careers that align with their skills and aspirations.
Interviewer: RKY Careers recently expanded into North America. What does this mean for you
    and the people you serve?
Rukayat: It’s a major step forward. The challenges immigrants face in the UK are similar to
those in Canada and the United States. Expanding into these markets means we can support
more people globally, helping them transition smoothly into their careers. I’m especially excited
about the opportunities this creates for African immigrants looking to break into high-demand
    industries.
Interviewer: You hosted the ‘Limitless Without Borders’ event. What was the vision behind it?
Rukayat: That event was about empowerment. We brought professionals and students together
to explore opportunities in the tech industry, build networks, and gain insights that would help
them take the next step in their careers. It wasn’t just about jobs—it was about confidence,

connections, and showing people that they don’t have to limit themselves because of their
    immigrant status.
Interviewer: What has been your most defining moment since starting RKY Careers?
Rukayat: Moving from a home office to Canary Wharf was a huge milestone. It wasn’t just a
change of location; it was symbolic of our growth. Being in one of the world’s most influential
financial hubs has given us access to key industry players, global opportunities, and a stronger
network. It positions us where we need to be to provide even greater value to our clients.
Interviewer: Apply Buddy is your latest initiative. How does it make job searching easier?
Rukayat: Job hunting can be overwhelming, and Apply Buddy is designed to change that. It
offers tailored services that take the stress out of job applications, from crafting the perfect CV to
preparing candidates for interviews. The idea is to make the process as seamless and effective
as possible, so job seekers can focus on securing roles that truly align with their goals.
Interviewer: What drives you to keep pushing boundaries?
Rukayat: The success stories. Seeing immigrants break barriers, secure roles they once thought
were out of reach, and step into careers they love—that’s what keeps me going. Every person
we help is proof that the right support and mindset can change lives.
Interviewer: What’s your long-term vision for RKY Group?
Rukayat: I want to see more Africans abroad excelling in professional roles, leading in their
industries, and living fulfilling lives. The dream is to build a global support system where
immigrants don’t just survive in new environments—they thrive.
Interviewer: What advice would you give to immigrants struggling to find their place in
    international job markets?
Rukayat: Invest in in-demand skills, stay persistent, and never let initial rejections define your
journey. Confidence is key. Don’t settle for less because of where you come from—set your
standards high and push for excellence in everything you do.
Rukayat Alabi’s story is a powerful reminder that with the right mindset and support, immigrants
can overcome barriers and achieve remarkable success. Through RKY Group, she continues to
redefine career support, proving that opportunities have no borders.
