    Tems Makes History as the First African Woman to Join MLS Ownershipwith San Diego FC

    San Diego FC (SDFC) has revealed that GRAMMY-winning and Oscar-nominated Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer, Tems has become a member of the club’s ownership group through her company, The Leading Vibe.
    Recognized for her unique sound and cultural impact, Tems is set to infuse her passion for creativity and community into the soccer realm as an SDFC Club Partner.

    “We are thrilled to welcome Tems to San Diego FC,” stated SDFC Chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour. “As a globally significant artist, she will help us connect with new audiences and enhance our relationship with sub-Saharan Africa through the Right to Dream organization.”
    SDFC CEO Tom Penn echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting Tems’ dedication to nurturing young talent.
    “Her values align seamlessly with our mission, and we look forward to fostering connections between music and soccer to unite communities.”

    Tems has garnered significant recognition, winning a GRAMMY for her song “Love Me JeJe” from her debut album ‘Born In The Wild’, as well as another for Future’s hit “Wait for U.” She has also received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for “Lift Me Up” from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’.
    Her genuine artistry, according to SDFC, aligns with its commitment to community and culture. Reacting to her addition as the latest partner, Tems said, “I am excited to join San Diego FC, a club that values creativity and connection. Soccer has a unique ability to bring people together, and I look forward to contributing to something special in San Diego.”
