Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi Makes History as NIMN’s First Female President

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has elected Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi as its new President, marking a historic moment as she becomes the first woman to assume the role. She takes over from Idorenyen Enang, whose tenure recently came to an end.

Dr. Bayo-Ajayi, a seasoned marketing professional with deep experience in the Institute, pledged to strengthen and reposition NIMN through strategic reforms and inclusive leadership. Drawing from her previous roles as Council Member and 1st Vice President, she expressed readiness to lead with insight and purpose.

“This new role has deepened my understanding of the Institute’s operations and has illuminated the path to unlocking its full potential,” she stated.

A Certified Performance Coach and Doctor of Business Administration, Dr. Bayo-Ajayi has played key roles within NIMN over the years, including:

    • Moderator at Institute events
    • Trainer and Facilitator of various workshops
    • Member, Learning and Development Committee
    • Chairperson, Coaching and Mentoring Committee
    • Leader, Membership Upgrade Committee
    • 1st Vice President (most recent position)

She described her candidacy as a “renewed commitment and a higher call to serve” and promised to introduce innovative programs over the next two years to elevate NIMN’s profile and deliver greater value to its members.

Her election comes as NIMN enters a new chapter following the leadership of Enang, who highlighted his administration’s accomplishments—including strategic alliances with institutions like Lagos Business School and the Chartered Institutes of Marketing in the UK and Ghana.

Enang also noted the advancement of the NIMN Act No. 25 of 2003 in the 10th National Assembly, alongside curriculum updates and institutional reforms despite financial constraints.

As Dr. Bayo-Ajayi steps into leadership, she is poised to build on this foundation with a forward-thinking vision, inspiring confidence and anticipation across Nigeria’s marketing community.
