Juliet Ibrahim Makes History as First President of WIFT Ghana

Celebrated Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim has reached another milestone in her career, becoming the inaugural President of Women in Film and Television (WIFT) Ghana.

This historic appointment marks a significant step for the country’s creative industry.

WIFT Ghana, part of the global Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI) network and affiliated with WIFT Africa, is dedicated to empowering women, promoting inclusivity, and creating opportunities in film, television, and digital media.

Sharing the announcement on her social media platforms, Ibrahim expressed her excitement and commitment to advancing the organization’s mission.

She emphasized her dedication to fostering mentorship, collaboration, and long-lasting impact for both emerging and established female creatives—especially youth, storytellers, and innovators.

“This milestone is not just a personal achievement, but a powerful moment for all women across Ghana’s and Africa’s creative industries,” she wrote. “The future is female, and the spotlight is ours. Let’s write history together.”

The appointment adds to a series of recent accomplishments for the actress. She recently earned a degree in Marketing Communications from the University of Berkeley and joined the advisory boards of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Brampton International Nollywood Film Festival (BINFF).

With her new leadership role at WIFT Ghana, Ibrahim continues to break barriers and inspire a new generation of African creatives.
