Moved by Pupils Sitting on Bare Floors, CSP Ruka Ruka Donates Desks, Bags and Sandals to Ebonyi Schools

Touched by the sight of pupils sitting on bare floors during lessons, a senior police officer, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Nwode Nkeiruka, popularly known as Ruka Ruka, has provided desks, school bags and sandals to pupils in selected public schools across Ebonyi State.

The humanitarian intervention benefited more than 1,000 pupils after CSP Nwode learned that many children in the affected schools lacked basic learning facilities and materials, forcing them to sit on the floor and attend classes without proper footwear or school bags.

Eyewitness accounts revealed that before the donation, several pupils endured uncomfortable and undignified learning conditions, which negatively impacted their overall school experience.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, CSP Nwode explained that her decision was motivated by a commitment to improving the welfare of children and supporting effective teaching and learning in public schools.

She noted that while the gesture might appear modest, access to basic educational resources can significantly improve pupils’ confidence and academic engagement.

The Ebonyi State indigene also expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for encouraging officers to serve communities beyond their official responsibilities.

Currently serving as the Police Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters Annex in Lagos, CSP Nwode is widely recognised for her consistent humanitarian efforts in Ebonyi State, including building houses for indigent widows—further reinforcing her reputation as an officer dedicated to service beyond the call of duty.
