    Benny Bonsu Named Among 50 Most Influential African Women in Sport

    The Chief Content Officer at Olympic Channel Services under the International Olympic Committee, Benny Bonsu, has been named one of the 50 Most Influential African Women in Sport for 2025.

    The recognition was awarded by Africa Sports Ventures Group in collaboration with the Women Sport Africa Network, celebrating women who are shaping Africa’s sporting landscape through leadership, innovation and advocacy.

    Bonsu’s inclusion places her among a distinguished group of female leaders driving transformation across sports administration, governance, media, athlete development and global representation.

    Reacting to the honour, Bonsu described the recognition as humbling, noting that it reflects the collective impact of women who continue to use their voices and leadership to advance African sport.

    “This recognition is for every woman using her voice, courage and passion to make a difference in sport,” she said. 

    “To stand alongside so many remarkable women leading and inspiring across Africa and the diaspora is truly an honour.”

    At the Olympic Channel Services, Bonsu oversees global sports storytelling, promotes inclusion and champions greater representation of African narratives within the international sports ecosystem.

    The 2025 list also features prominent sports figures including International Olympic Committee President Kirsty Coventry, former FIFA Secretary-General Fatma Samoura, Rwanda’s Minister of Sports Nelly Mukazayire, world record-holding athlete Faith Kipyegon and President of the Confederation of African Volleyball Bouchra Hajij.

    Bonsu’s recognition further reinforces her growing influence as a leading advocate for women in sport, as she continues to elevate African voices, mentor emerging talent and push for equity within global sporting institutions.

    The 50 Most Influential African Women in Sport list honours individuals whose work continues to drive progress, inspire future generations and redefine leadership standards across Africa and beyond.
